MAY 2015

As waterproofing and traffic coating projects get underway for the season, the increase in demand for TQ3’s range of systems has meant further expansion of our production facility in Fairfield, NJ. Just 30 minutes from Manhattan (if traffic allows of course) we are ideally placed to service our home markets.

Our new facility means an increase to almost 20,000 sf, with additional office space and a dedicated workshop for our field support sister company, TQ3 Technical Services.

TQ3 Technical Services have made significant investment in our dedicated spray rigs designed to work with our systems that use one or more of our unique spray applied materials. By the end of June we will have 6 machines ready to meet the increase in use of this unique technology.

As we get ready for the start of the new season we are excited to advise you of changes to the sales organization for the New York Metro area. To meet the increasing demands for TQ3 systems throughout the territory we have expanded our relationship with Roofing Specialties Inc to include their entire sales team – they will cover the entire product / system range working closely with our own in-house sales and technical support team.

Steve Cortazzo has left TQ3 to pursue a career in the more sedate world of stone restoration, we wish Steve all the very best for the future, his energy and boundless enthusiasm will be missed.

We have numerous exciting projects that are starting this month (April) and highlights, photos etc will be shown in next months blog. However we haven’t been entirely quiet during the winter months, Vancouver BC has been very busy for us thanks to a very mild Winter. Our Pumadeq and Trafficoat Systems have been in use on multiple projects (see below). In the North East our Tequa floor coating range is being used in a variety of applications.

PROJECT HIGHLIGHT
BC Ferries – Vancouver, British Columbia – Ferry Ramps

TQ3’s Pumadeq HD system has been installed on a new ferry ramp and walkway project for long term customer BC Ferries. Our approved installer/distributor in the territory SRM Inc has recently completed the work to the complete satisfaction of the client. The products fast turnaround times and low temperature curing properties made it the ideal choice for this application.

PROJECT HIGHLIGHT
City of Vancouver, Trafficoat Colored Surfacing

TQ3’s  Trafficoat system has been in use throughout British Columbia since 2013 where we have a 5 year contract to supply all colored surfacing materials for Cycle Tracks, Bus Lanes etc to the City of Vancouver. All materials are installed by our partner of 20 years, SRM Inc. Trafficoats unrivalled durability, rapid cure times and skid restant properties make it the ideal choice. The system also has outstanding color retention as can be seen on the ‘Rainbow Project’ completed a couple of years ago on a highly trafficked main intersection.

As the north – east continues to experience extreme cold weather and the waterproofing business generally shuts down, our Technical Services division has been busy helping clients and contractors get projects completed.  TQ3 Technical Services was established to provide equipment and technical support to ensure the smooth and continuous running of the complex spray equipment needed to apply our range of hybrid membranes. A unique service that is welcomed by our network of licensed installers.

Below are some examples of recent projects where TQ3 Technical Services provided the equipment and technical support to the installer:

PROJECT HIGHLIGHT
E. 80th Street, Manhattan – Secondary Containment

Qontain-Logo-e1422032494399

TQ3’s spray applied, odor free waterproofing and chemical resistant membrane was chose to protect an oil containment area on the upper east side of Manhattan. A challenging application due to continuous moisture ingress in the basement TQ3’s GC Primer was selected because of it’s moisture tolerance in damp conditions. The entire area was then coated with FX 400 membrane – ready for use the same day.

Prodeq was installed at a residential development on New York’s prestigious Park Ave. Prodeq was chosen by Architects Gilsanz Murray Steficek because of it’s speed of application and ability to deal with difficult and multiple penetrations . The system was applied when temperature outside were at record lows, around 0˚ F ! The project was completed in a single visit to site and licensed installer Skyline Restoration were able to complete the project on schedule despite the poor weather. An electronic leak detection test was carried out a couple of days later and the Prodeq installation passed with flying colors.

Welcome to our new website and company blog. The blog is designed to bring you company news and updates – typical items will include interesting projects, new product developments, news from our Technical Services business and generally anything newsworthy. 2014 was a landmark year for TQ3, we increased revenue by over 300%, we moved (yet again) to new premises to accommodate that growth. Significant investment was made in new processing equipment, additional personnel were brought in and TQ3 Technical Services was established. We would like to thank all our customers, architects, waterproofing consultants, developers etc. for your support and look forward to working with you on future projects.

PROJECT HIGHLIGHT
Port Authority Bus Terminal, Times Sq., NY

Pumadeq-Logo

TQ3’s  Pumadeq system was recently used at New York’s Port Authority Bus Terminal to waterproof the roadways  to prevent water ingress in to the terminal building. Work was carried out over 4 weekends by approved installer Structural. This challenging project involved carrying our recessed repairs to the control joints, caulking with Puma resin, installation of membrane and traffic coating system. The terminal has around 8,000 bus movements every weekday, Pumadeq’s fast turnaround times (can be trafficked after 45 minutes) and highly durable finish were key factors in the client’s decision to use our system.

 Prodeq

Prodeq has been installed at a new  residential development by Related Propertied in Manhattan’s Tribeca district. The system was first installed on the 8th floor terrace to allow  a crane to be placed directly on top of  the Prodeq, without the need for protection. Because of tight time schedules the client specified our GC Primer which allows installation after just 4 days. GC Primer is a specially formulated 100% solids epoxy that is alkali and moisture resistant. Prodeq incorporates our unique spray hybrid instant setting membrane. Approved installer MRS of Hackensack in New Jersey worked closely with TQ3 Technical Services to ensure a successful outcome. The main roof  terrace  was waterproofed with Prodeq which has  pavers and a partial green roof.
